You know the feeling people get on New Year’s Eve,

You know the feeling people get on New Year’s Eve, that’s the feeling I have today, on my son’s birthday. An internal buzz, a review of all the good (and all the bad), the tough moments, the cutie moments, the first-time memories, the oh-fuck-is-that-normal memories, the how do I do that feeling, and the overwhelming feeling of unconditional love to my son, a kind of love I’ve never felt for anyone in life.

The last 24 hours have been really special to me as I recalled (so vividly) exactly what happened a year before. 11th January 2025, I went into labour in St. Peter’s Hospital (the same one I was born in), I remembered being on gas and air, the contractions, my incredible birthing partner, getting an epidural and the hours passed by and somehow blurred into 12th January and being told by the nurse, “come on Omega, in the next push you’re going to be meet your baby”, crying hysterically the moment and I asked the midwife, is it a boy or a girl and she screamed it’s a boy! And I said my Romeo, and he was placed in my arms. At 6:58pm, my body delivered a little human life, a miracle happened (a mind fuck happened too) because bringing a child into this world from your body is the most surreal pleasure and you can’t imagine it until you experience it. #momlife

Motherhood has taught me that no matter how tired I am, how overwhelmed I feel, or how hard the days get - I keep going. Because that’s what mothers do, especially single ones. It’s the hardest job in the world, but the most beautiful, rewarding and life changing gift. Being Romeo’s Mum has stretched me in ways I never imagined, he has already filled heart in ways I never knew possible and taught me a love so deep, it’s impossible to put into words. Being so needed 24/7 by the little baby life that you brought into this world, and in my case, my best friend, is incredibly taxing but the most fulfilling, special and amazing feeling in the world.
Nothing prepares you for it, but you wouldn’t trade it for anything.💞👶

#realtalk This photoshoot was beautiful and poignant but pregnancy doesn’t look like this everyday. I’ve loved my pregnancy SO much (except for the emotional turmoil), physically I’ve been super blessed and I’m already looking forward to going through it all over again because there’s no better feeling in the world, then feeling your baby kick you. Literally no words to describe how precious that is.

Just wanted to give you a reality check, so you know there’s more to it than my narcissistic feed.

- nosebleeds
- weight gain everywhere
- leg cramps
- pelvic pain
- nausea and headache
- the list goes on…but it’s worth every second of it 👼

What started as my 2024 became “our” 2024—me and B

What started as my 2024 became “our” 2024—me and Baby Bumpie. And as I wait to meet this little miracle who’s already changed my life in ways I didn’t expect, I can’t help but feel that everything I’ve gone through this year has brought me exactly where I’m supposed to be.

If I had to describe 2024 in one word, it would be

If I had to describe 2024 in one word, it would be transformative. But even that doesn’t fully capture how raw and real this year has been. It’s been a journey of unexpected twists, magic, fear, and moments that forced me to confront myself in ways I never have before.

It started in Hurghada, Egypt. On the surface, it felt like paradise, but deep down, I was longing for a home, a place of my own. Instead, I was still living out of a suitcase, trapped in the digital nomadic lifestyle I’d been living for the past four years. It was freeing yet rootless — and I was starting to feel the weight of that.

After Egypt, I made the decision to live in Bali. I thought the island’s beauty, sunshine and playground vibe would bring me the happiness and fulfillment I was searching for. But again, I found myself restless, longing for purpose and I grew to hate the hedonism I saw around me. I was freelancing, but I wasn’t happy with my career status or my life progress.

After coming back to the UK, I secured the position of Editor-in-Chief for two magazine titles. I threw myself into the position with passion, and for the first time in a long time, I actually loved what I was doing.One of the highlights of my career came when I saw my Editor’s letter in Romantic Travellers. It was a defining moment, a reward for all the challenges 2024 had brought my way.

But the biggest curveball came in the form of my pregnancy. This brought a mix of emotions I could barely process at first. There was so much uncertainty, and I wasn’t sure how to deal with it. The decisions I had to make felt overwhelming, and I spent a lot of time questioning everything. 2024 quickly turned me from a carefree, reckless digital nomad, living for the thrill, into a soon-to-be single Mum who had to grow up fast and take responsibility for the future I was about to create.

Different hair braids, but I’ll always enjoy trying new hairstyles!

These snaps are particularly poignant for me, as they really highlight the transition I’ve made in one year. Maybe you only see the physical changes, but those who know me well will know the far deeper transformation I’ve had to make (very fucking quickly) to get ready to be the best possible Mum I can be and provide by myself.
